3B8 Mauritius – Michael, OE6MBG will be active as 3B8/OE6MBG from Mauritius (AF-049) on 2-23 February. He plans to focus on 80 and 40 metres, using SSB, CW and possibly some FT8/FT4. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log.
8R Guyana – Team 8R1WA (namely IZ0EGA, IZ0EVI, IZ0EWJ and IZ6DSQ) will be active from Guyana on 19-27 February. They will operate SSB and FT8 on 160-6 metres with up to six stations. QSL via IZ0EGA. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log: https://guyana2026.wordpress.com.
C2 Nauru – Phill, FK1TS is active again as C21TS from Nauru (OC-031) until “towards the end of July”, he says, when he will QRT for good. He operates FT8, and possibly will try some SSB. QSL via LoTW, or via M0OXO’s OQRS. QSOs are live streamed on Club Log.
D4 Cape Verde – Heli, DD0VR will be active as D4VR from Cape Verde in February. He will operate QRP with “high efficient antennas” from Boa Vista (AF-086) on 6-11 February and again on 19-21 February, and from Sao Tiago (AF-005) on 11-18 February. QSL via home call.
EA Spain – Special callsigns AO1WRD, AO2WRD, AO3WRD, AO4WRD, AO5WRD, AO6WRD (Balearic Islands), AO7WRD, AO8WRD (Canary Islands) and AO9WRD (Ceuta and Melilla) are expected to be active on 6-15 February in celebration of World Radio Day. QSL for all callsigns direct to EA3RKF: Federacion Digital EA, Apartado Postal 3050, 08200 Sabadell (Barcelona), Spain. World Radio Day (13 February) was proclaimed in 2011 by the Member States of UNESCO, and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day. This year’s theme is “Radio and Artificial Intelligence”.
FO/M Marquesas Is – Team TX9W (namely F6BCW, K4VBM, K5WE, N5TEA, W5CCP and WD5COV) will be active from Hiva Oa, Marquesas Islands (OC-027) on 19-30 April. They will operate CW and FT8 (“some SSB, RTTY, FT4 may be attempted”) on 160-6 metres with up to six stations. Depending upon a reliable Internet connection, QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log on
a daily basis, and Club Log’s Livestream will be enabled. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS (preferred), or via K5WE. All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW shortly after the DXpedition. See https://k5we.com/tx9w for more information and updates.
J5 Guinea-Bissau – Livio, IZ3BUR has been active again as J52EC from Cumura, Guinea-Bissau since 24 January. Reportedly, he will remain there until early March. QSL direct only to home call.
HA Hungary – Hungarian physicist Zoltan Bay (1900-1992) played a pivotal role in advancing Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) communication through his pioneering experiment conducted on 6 February 1946. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Bay’s achievements, the Hungarian Radio Amateur Society (MRASZ) is hosting a special radio activity. Look for HG80BAY, HG80EARTH, HG80EME, HG80LUNA, HG80MOON, HG80RADAR to be QRV on 6-28 February. QSL via LoTW and Club Log’s OQRS. OX Greenland – Mikkel OZ7AKT as OX7AKT, and Bo OZ1DJJ as OX3LX will be active from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (NA-018) on 10-17 February. They will operate SSB, CW and FT8 on 160-10 metres. OX3LX will then continue to Aasiaat Island (NA-134), where he will stay until around 9 March. QSL OX7AKT via OZ1ACB, Club Log’s OQRS and LoTW; QSL OX3LX via OZ0J, Club Log’s OQRS and LoTW.
S0 Western Sahara – Members of the Sahrawi Amateur Radio Union will be active as S0S (Sierra Zero Sierra) on QO-100 (mainly SSB, possibly with some FT8/FT4) for 8-9 days starting on 3 February. The grid locators to be activated, from north to south, are IL35, IL34, IL33, IL32, IL31, IL21, IL11, and IL10 (not necessarily in this order). All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW free of charge. Paper QSL cards will be available exclusively via Club Log’s OQRS.
SP Poland – Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the city of Gnynia, six special callsigns – namely SP100G, SQ100D, SO100Y, SN100N, HF100I and 3Z100A – will be activated on 7-22 February. A certificate will be available, see https://ot09.pzk.org.pl/akcje/100gdynia/100gdy.php for the details. QSLs are “not required, but if you need PSE via SP2PGD”.
TL Central African Republic – Pending the arrival of new equipment this weekend, Joao, TL8BNW (CR7BNW) plans to upgrade his station’s capabilities for a specialized run on 160 metres. From 4 to 14 February, he will temporarily modify his dipole antenna to focus exclusively on 160m SSB and digital modes. After that period, he will reconfigure the dipole to restore its standard multi-band functionality, returning to his regular operations on 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters.
V4 Saint Kitts & Nevis – Tom, K0YA and his wife Toni, W5RCX will be active again as V4/K0YA and V4/W5RCX from St. Kitts (NA-104) from 4 February to 9 March. Activity will be holiday style on 160-6 metres CW, SSB, FT8, FT4. Look for Tom to participate in both legs of the ARRL International DX Contest, CW (21-22 February) and SSB (7-8 March), as V47Y. All QSOs will be confirmed via LoTW.
