De DX-tips voor de week van 7 – 14 maart

5W  Samoa – Jacek, SP5EAQ had announced he would be active from Samoa from 22 March to 11 April. He was set to fly via Doha (Qatar) and Brisbane, ultimately arriving in Apia to begin operating as 5W0AF. However, the geopolitical situation has shifted significantly since the initial planning. With the airspace of several countries (including Qatar) currently closed, the stability of the region remains uncertain even if routes were to reopen shortly. Consequently, Jacek has determined that the only viable solution is to re-route and postpone the DXpedition – likely until autumn. This will involve purchasing new tickets that avoid the Middle East entirely.

DL  Germany – DA26WARD is the special callsign for the DARC Team SES to promote World Amateur Radio Day between 1 March and 30 April. QSL via LoTW, DK5ON, and DCL (DARC Community Logbook). WARD is celebrated annually on 18 April, the day when the IARU was formed in 1925. The theme for this year’s WARD is “Advancing the Spirit of Amateur Radio Through Innovation”.

JD1/O  Ogasawara – Look for Masa, JA0RQV/JD1 and Rio, JR2GYA/JD1 to be active holiday style from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara on 13-16 March. They will operate FT8, FT4, CW, and SSB on 80-6 metres. QSL JA0RQV/JD1 via LoTW or Club Log’s OQRS; QSL JR2GYA/JD1 via LoTW.

JW  Svalbard – Kaare, LA8EKA will be active again as JW8EKA from Longyearbyen (EU-026), Svalbard on 13-15 March. Usually he operates SSB and digital modes (SSB, RTYY, PSK31, FT8) mainly on 20-10 metres. It looks like this time he’ll be confirming the QSOs via an e-QSL sent by email.
