4X Israel – In anticipation of Christmas, special event stations 4X8X (from the Latrun Monastery) and 4X9X (from the Yardenit Baptismal Site) will be active on 6-8 December. They will be followed by 4X7X from the Abbey of the Dormition on 20-22 December. All QSLs via 4X6ZM. A certificate will be available: https://www.iarc.org/xmas2024.
A9 Bahrain – Celebrating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day, the Bahrain Amateur Radio Society will be active as A91ND on 1-16 December. QSL via EC6DX. Also taking part in the celebrations will be the Emirates Amateur Radio Society as A60BHR on 11-16 December (individual operators may append a serial number to the special callsign), and possibly the Saudi Amateur Radio Society as HZ1BHR, the Kuwait Amateur Radio Society as 9K9BHR, and the Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society as A43BHR.
JA Japan – Take, JI3DST will be active again as JS6RRR from Miyako Island (AS-079) from 4 December to 31 March 2025. Other callsigns to be used include JI3DST/6, JJ5RBH/6, JR8YLY/6 and JS6RRR/6, as well as JI3DST/p, JJ5RBH/p, JR8YLY/p and JS6RRR/p on FT8. QSLs via Club Log’s OQRS; QSOs will be made available for Club Log Matching on the IOTA website.
KH9 Wake Island – Currently stationed on Wake Island (OC-053), Allen, KH7AL is active as KH7AL/KH9 in his spare time. He operates mainly SSB with some CW on 40, 30, 20, 17, 15 and 10 metres. “He will be working a rotation of three months on the island then one month off the island for at least one year”. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.
PA Netherlands – Celebrating Christmas and the New Year, special callsign PH24XMAS will be active on 6-28 December, followed by PH25HNY from 28 December to 5 January. Paper QSL cards will not be provided. Also active in December will be Barry, PC1K as PC24XMAS. QSL via PC1K (direct and bureau), LoTW, QRZ Logbook; a certificate will be downloadable from https://pc1k.nl/xmas “immediately after making a QSO”.
SM Sweden – The still operational long wave transmitter at the Grimeton Radio Station, callsign SAQ, was inaugurated on 1 December 1924. To celebrate this milestone, the transmitter will be activated on VLF 17.2 kHz at 10.00 UTC on 1 December. The Grimenton Radio Station has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2004. As for the amateur bands, SK6SAQ will be QRV on CW (3517, 7017, 14017 kHz) and SSB (3755 and 7140 kHz). V4 Saint Kitts & Nevis – Mike, KC1NGS will be active as V47NH from Newcastle, Nevis (NA-104) on 5-17 December. He will operate SSB on 40-10 metres. QSL via home call; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, Club Log, eQSL and QRZ.

VU4 Andaman & Nicobar Islands – Krish, W4VKU has been active as VU4A from the Andaman Islands (AS-001) since 27 November, and expects to remain there until 11 December. He operates FT8 (MSHV) and SSB on 160-6 metres. On FT8, send your grid, as Krish will enable MSHV to filter “received stations based on their distance from VU4”, and “to answer the farthest DX first”.
